Burleson Founders Day Celebration

October 8th, 2016
Founders Day is an annual celebration of the rich history of Burleson Community.It is held on the second Saturday of each October in recognition of the date Burleson was founded - October 10, 1881. The festival is held in Burleson's historic Old Town, which is a commercial and governmental center featuring a restored Interurban Depot and Visitors Center, Burleson City Hall, and numerous locally-owned shops and restaurants. Burleson's Founders Day Festival hosts thousands of Burleson area residents and tourists each year and offers participants the chance to spend the day enjoying numerous sights and activities such as:

•Arts and crafts

•Great foods

•Historic self-guided walking tours

• Interurban Depot and Museum-Dedication

•Western gun fighters

•Musical entertainment

 Come experience the sights and sounds of this treasured Christmas wonderland with over 3.5 million lights decorating Hulen Park in Cleburne. "Spectacular!"... "Enchanting!"... "Delightful!"... are just a sampling of the descriptions heard from visitors to the park every Christmas!

The Yuletide celebration begins on November 22nd with the lighting of over 3.5 million lights at Hulen Park that are turned on each evening through New Year's Eve.

Candlewalk is known as the oldest home tour in this area. The homes featured on the tour are of historical value to the
community. They are decked in the host family's cultural and traditional Christmas decor. Tourists not only have the opportunity to share the Christmas spirit with SOC, they also share in creative home decorating and renovation ideas featured in the homes.
